Being from the South, we all know that there is a need and a time to help out our friends and family with food- because its just how we love on each other. I firmly believe that casseroles are the glue that holds the community together- and in times of need, there is no better way to bless someone than to feed them.
Our little family just went through a hospitalization ordeal that definitely qualified for Casserole assistance- and I simply cannot tell you enough how wonderful it was!
Here are some times that definitely qualify:
- A death in the family
- An illness that requires hospitalization
- long term treatment, such as cancer
- A new baby
- And, maybe even a single mom that just needs a break-
In the past, there have been organizations, mainly churches, that organize and handle times like this- but, these days, not everyone is as plugged in as they used to be.
Now, there is an awesome system out there that is computer based, and publicized through social channels- that truly needs to be a bookmark on your browser toolbar- The Meal Train.
Amazingly simple to use, this system helps to plan meals, take care of the calendar, and even publicize on Social Media to rally the Casserole Girls! Community just got better- and i firmly believe that a casserole can go a long way to start a path to world peace- In my humble opinion.
And, if you need some ideas for what to take- I have a handy little Pinterest board right here-
Go out and love somebody today!
